Sprint suffers network outage in Northeast U.S.

Sprint experienced "a major network outage" in the Northeast U.S. this morning, according to DSL Reports. The outage, which Sprint addressed in a series of tweets, affected 3G and 4G voice and data services in markets including Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Sprint said service was restored Monday afternoon.

Sprint didn't disclose any specifics regarding the outage, which follows what DSL Reports describes as a "major SMS outage" on Friday. The development isn't good news for a carrier fighting to convince consumers that its network is on par with its bigger rivals. Of course, Sprint isn't the only carrier to suffer network problems; T-Mobile reported its own network troubles just last month. Article
