Plus Aruba appears to be looking to usurp competitors such as Cisco by being able to manage their proprietary solutions.

Google

Clearwire has tapped Google to provide the company's Apps suite to its subscribers.

The suite includes Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Talk, but the deal also sees Clearwire leveraging Google's AdSense for Search on future portal applications.

U.S. Cellular

Alcatel-Lucent

U.S. Cellular has inked a deal with Alcatel-Lucent that includes network equipment, software and services supporting for the carrier's ongoing network expansion.

The deal marks a five year agreement between the companies.

ADI

MediaTEK

Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) has completed its $350 million cash sale of its mobile phone chip business to MediaTek.

The sales includes ADI's Othello and SoftFone chipset businesses, which accounted for about $230 million in revenue for ADI in 2006. MediaTek gains a global team of about 400 employees in the deal.
