About the company:

Our client reaches almost 2 billion mobile phone users through its own sales channels and partnerships with over 200 Mobile Operators worldwide. It is the fastest growing new media company in Europe and currently consists of 265 employees worldwide with about 135 in the Lisbon HQ. Revenues are approximately €60m in 2007, nearly 40% growth from 2006 revenues of €44m.

The company operates in a variety of different business areas, notably: Direct (own brand downloadable and text content), Telco (white brand downloadable content) and Media (interactive television).

A growing number of media owners, operators and large brands have selected our client to provide their customers with a range of compelling interactive mobile entertainment services.


Job Purpose:

Our client requires an experienced Commercial Director to drive the achievement of the business’ international targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of strategy and sales of Interactive TV & Radio proposition and its expansion into international markets.

Responsibilities:

•Achieve the business’ sales objectives

•Responsibility for all customer
relationships with International TV broadcasters and producers

•Establish and maintain personal contact with key decision makers in key strategic accounts in order to further sales, assist in gaining significant new business opportunities, and develop understanding of the issues within the global TV & Radio Broadcasting and Production market

•Drive their marketing and promotion strategy to maximize awareness of the company’s products and services

•Ensure our client has a complete understanding of the competitive position in each key account so that the business can drive the growth of its market share through account management programs to retain existing customers and targeted share gain initiatives to win new accounts

•Monitor and review both the quality and strength of the prospect pipeline. Ensure all prospects are reviewed with the board on a weekly basis

•Provide the board with an accurate gross sales forecast each month, and a comprehensive review of the previous months results

•Continually improve customer care and satisfaction through the effective management of accounts, with timely and appropriate response to customer queries and complaints

•Manage the effective recruitment, coaching and development, monitoring and motivation of staff within the sales function, with appropriate response to staff performance issues

•Maintain a constant search for improvement opportunities, feedback, recommendations, issues and concerns which may be significant to the on-going success of sales activities

Skill set and Experience:

•Minimum 5 years Senior Sales Management experience in a mobile technology company / service provider

•Experience of managing relationships with the most senior decision-makers in International TV & Radio Broadcasters and Production companies

•Will have extensive experience of selling mobile products into broadcasters

•Will have full understanding of content licensing issues

•Will have experience of creating, implementing and closing deals

•Track-record of achieving aggressive sales targets in a fast growing business

•Flexibility and a pro-active approach and attitude will be required for working in a high growth environment

•Team management experience

•Good written and verbal communication skills, planning and organizational skills and an ability to work in a fast paced environment

•International Languages skills would be beneficial – German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian
